Equality vs. Equity: What's the Difference?

Equality and equity are two sides of the same coin, if you will, that are always pondered within a variety of issues that are often left unresolved. We have Affirmative Action, Voting Rights, Women Rights, Equal Pay, Equal Marriage, and the list go on to address the lack thereof of equality and equity. WE must always deal with these and other matters that are not advancing equality and fairness for all humanity. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. quote: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” is a reminder that the struggle continues.

BLUE LOTUS

In the ancient temples of Kemet, km.t, (aka Egypt) there is hardly a monument to be found that doesn’t prominently display the Blue Lotus flower. It’s seen everywhere on pillars, thrones, stone alters, papyrus scrolls, and on the ceremonial headdresses of pharaohs. When they opened Tutankhamun’s tomb, even King Tut’s mummy was covered in what has become known as the Sacred Lily of the Nile. Yet, oddly enough, if you look around Egypt today, it is rare to find this flower growing anywhere. The plant was associated with the sun-god Ra as the bringer of light and the embodiment of the “perfection of wisdom.”
